The third edition of the Manni Group Design Award begins

The new international architecture competition promoted by Manni Group in collaboration with YAC (Young Architects Competition) focuses this time on a pilot project to be developed in Ghana:

The objective of this competition is to realize a technological and cultural center aimed to respond the global challenges of food chains by generating better product availability and employment opportunities in a context where more than 25% of the population lives in the lowest levels of poverty. A system of infrastructures and a training center will share knowledge and technologies with the local population to meet their needs by developing strategies to make their activities more competitive and encourage the creation of jobs and opportunities, especially for young women and the most vulnerable sectors of the population.

Ghana: the "land of the Warrior King" or "gold coast" is a legacy of one of the richest and historically developed African trading lands. Located a few degrees north of the equator, it offers a warm climate combined with a geography of grasslands, coastal bush and forests. It is a country of splendid beaches with sandy shores and gently flowering fields dotted with abundant branching trees and the unmistakable palm trees that characterize this corner of the planet.

The Ghana Innovation Farm will therefore be a welcoming and affordable home for the local population, integrating high technical standards with the tradition of the indigenous culture that in Ghana has generated some Unesco heritage sites (the houses of Kumasi are an extremely valuable and expressive architectural unicum). Integrating technology with tradition, introducing modernity from vernacular architectural expressions, designing an innovative training center that is a home for the local community are some of the main challenges of Ghana Innovation Farm.
