Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs
The definition, formulated in 1987, defines as sustainable what allows to generate shared well-being and value for a potentially indefinite time, without specifically referring to the environment, society and economy. Conveying this concept in the context in which Manni Group operates means acting with an awareness of the aspects that can affect the Group’s ability to generate value in the short, medium and long term. Thanks to its work, Manni Group influences various areas that are considered by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) promoted by the United Nations and are taken into consideration in decisions and development covered by corporate strategies.
Thanks to the partnership with Habitech and by relying on its GreenMap programme, the mapping of Isopan products’ contributions to obtain the LEED® building certification was extended to products made with Leaf technology and to the BREEAM® rating. Compared to the 2016 mapping, the points that can be achieved with Isopan products — for the purposes of building sustainability ratings — increased, thanks to the certifications obtained in recent years. Isopan panels also comply with the requirements of the Minimum Environmental Criteria (Criteri Ambientali Minimi - CAM) expressed by the PAN GPP of the Italian Ministry of the Environment.
LEED® - Leadership in Energy Environmental Design - is a voluntary certification system for the management, design and construction of sustainable buildings from a social, environmental, economic and welfare point of view for users.
Founded in the United States in 1993 by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED is now the standard for the world’s most popular sustainability certification for buildings. It includes all areas that involve the design and management of buildings or districts, both commercial and residential, new or redeveloped.
Isopan insulating panels contribute to LEED prerequisites and credits.
Efficiency and energy savings direct Isopan's production management and our commitment to seek and develop innovative solutions. Our insulating panels for roofs and walls contribute to the prerequisites and credits for the LEED BD+C (Building Design and Construction) V4 certification in the following areas:
BREEAM® - Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method is one of the most widely used sustainability assessment methods in the world, applicable to infrastructure, buildings and planning on an urban scale, created by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in 1990 and applied in over 70 countries around the world. The system measures the adoption of sustainable practices through parameters that establish precise design and implementation criteria for healthy and energy-efficient buildings with a low environmental impact. BREEAM promotes innovation, sustainability and efficiency values, developing real estate investments and generating sustainable environments that improve the well-being of the people who live and work in BREEAM. Isopan's special products are the first in Italy that obtained the DECLARE label. Thanks to Leaf and Green Roof, Isopan achieved the label for transparency in building materials.
Declare is the label created by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) and the Living Future Europe Initiative (Lfei), which certifies the safety of the materials used in the products for the European construction market. Every product bearing the Declare label declares that it contains no ‘ingredients’ falling under the Red List, namely the list of the most dangerous materials in the construction industry.
Isopan is the first company in Italy that obtained the Declare label for two of its innovative products: LEAF and Green Roof.
An EPD® is a certified environmental product declaration, which provides environmental data on the life cycle of the products in accordance with international standard ISO 14025. Isopan EPD certificates collect the results of the Life Cicle Assessment (LCA) analysis of a wide range of Isopan panels, both in polyurethane and rock wool, produced in its Trevenzuolo and Patrica facilities. Using Isopan products with these certificates provides credits for the main sustainability ratings in construction (LEED, BREEAM, CAM Edilizia, LBC, etc.) and therefore allows architects and design engineers to evaluate and minimize the impact generated at the design stage by the building itself, thereby choosing the solution with the lowest impact.
